It is August 2022 and the theme for this year's Block of the Month Program is Basic Units. Each month will feature a different unit and our block will have that unit in it. The instructions are for making the block and not the unit. Most blocks are 12.5 inches, and a few are different. We are working on resizing the ones that are smaller than 12.5 inches, so there may be two sets of instructions to accommodate the different sizes.
The most colors/fabrics in one block is 6, but most will use 2 or 3 fabrics in them. We really are using this as a skill-building year, so expect some variety! Some blocks have paper piecing, some use templates, all will help you use your rulers – especially Studio 180 or Tucker University rulers. We are providing links to the methods used so you do not need a special ruler, but if you have one that you have not mastered yet – this year is for you!
Our blocks are featured on www.scissortail.com and the link to the instructions will be from https://www.quilterscache.com for most of the blocks. If we have some tips or resize the blocks, we will send that to you as well.
The unit we are featuring for August 2022 is the Split Rectangle, and our the block is called 'Crazy Anne'.

This month the block is 10 inch finished if you use the Quilter’s Cache instructions.
To make this a 12 inch finished block, here are your cutting sizes:
Colour 1 & 3 (Split Rectangles) cut 2 rectangles 6” x 3.5” and slice as directed on website (these will be trimmed to 3” x 5.5”)
Shaded 4 patch finished size 5” (5.5” unfinished)
Colour 3 cut 5 squares 3”
Colour 2 for flying geese 3 3/8”
Colour 4 for HST use a 6” square that you will trim down
