Theme for 2010 Quilt Show

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

In case you missed the last meeting, a small group was formed for the purpose of doing some preliminary work on our next quilt show, which is in 2010. By getting an early start, we hope to be able to coordinate all of our show activities and make sure that all of them fall into an appropriate timeline.

First off, we would like to choose a theme for the show. If we can pick a theme now, we can work on coordinating everything we plan to go with the theme. This could possibly include our graphics on our flyers, our raffle quilt, our challenge project, and all of our special features at the show, and maybe additional things too.

Here we need your input. What do you suggest for a theme for our upcoming show? The theme will most likely become our show title. In the past we have used “Quilts in Bloom”, “Quilting Between Friends”, and “The Langley Quilters’ Guild 1st Quilt Show”.

At the moment we have tentative plans to have the show again on the Mothers’ Day weekend in 2010, most likely on the Friday evening and on the Saturday full day again.

We will be collecting ideas from you at the October and November meetings or by contacting us directly. We will have a prize to the guild member with the chosen theme. There will be a box available at the meetings to deposit your suggestions, just in case you prefer writing it down. You can post your suggestion on the blog by adding a comment  here and you can also email the website with your idea, by clicking on “Contact Us” in the horizontal navigational bar.

So in the meantime, put your thinking caps on, put forth some suggestions, give us your ideas of what you think the show should be programmed around.

Fabric Stash

Just wondering how everybody sorts their stash.  Do you sort by colour, theme, or yardage.   Do share.  Would be interested to know how everyone does it.
